The eye clinic at Örebro University Hospital is in the front line treating diseases of the macula. The clinic is a centre for retina surgery, and also houses one of Sweden’s six cornea banks.

Welcome to Örebro County Council

Örebro County is situated in the centre of Sweden. The County Council’s principal task is to organize and provide health care, thus improving the quality of life of all its 278.000 residents. It is responsible for health care, dental care, support and service to the disabled, research, culture, education and regional growth.

A typical day in Örebro County:

  • Seven babies are born and nine people die.
  • Ambulances make 54 call-outs.
  • 70 patients undergo surgery in the county’s hospitals.
  • About 1.900 people go to a doctor.
  • Health care costs SEK 12.8 million.
  • About 4.700 people are at work in Council-run health care services.
