The Head and Neck Oncology Center is dedicated to excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of Head and Neck Tumors. The Center is part of Örebro University Hospital, a modern tertiary care teaching hospital managed by a local government (Örebro County Council). Patients are accepted for diagnosis and treatment or for a second opinion.
New therapy!
Novel therapy for solid tumors in the head and neck and for cutaneous and subcutaneous tumors in any part of the body!
Erradication of tumors using a combination of intratumoral Bleomycin and high voltage direct current electricity.
A clinical trial of Electrochemo therapy (electroporation therapy - EPT) for treatment of Head and Neck cancer as well as for cutaneous and subcutaneous tumors has been completed (no further inclusion). All twenty patients with cancers of the oral tongue treated with EPT are tumor free with a follow-up time 2 years. Two of 7 patients with skin cancers have recurred after a follow-up time of 2 years.
